The 4-Step Email Campaign System That Generates $200K Per Month

Retention Recipes

So I'm making a grilled cheese sandwich for my son Leo the other day when this totally random memory hits me.

Suddenly I'm transported back to this crazy night in Boulder during college.

I'm at my friend Tanner's house at 2 AM after a party.

We're all hanging in the kitchen when he announces he's making grilled cheese sandwiches.

"You want one?" he asks.

Hell yeah I want one!

I'm sitting there in the kitchen watching him work.

He gets the bread, slaps some cheese on it, and then...

…holy crap.

He casually tosses HALF A STICK OF BUTTER
in the pan.

Even in my altered state, I'm horrified.

This dude is about to drown a perfectly innocent sandwich in dairy fat.

In goes the sandwich.

It starts making obscene sizzling sounds. The whole kitchen smells like a Paula Deen fever dream.

RIP your eyes…

He hands it to me five minutes later and I take a bite.

And it was the best damn grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had in my life.

I thought it was way too much butter. I was completely wrong.

This kinda reminds me of a client I started working with last summer.

Ironically they're in the baked goods industry.

The Problem:

This client had all their flows set up and working well. But they were only sending campaigns sporadically - sometimes two per month, sometimes none.

They knew they needed someone to handle campaigns but were worried about sending "too much" email and annoying their customers.

They also just didn't have the time to do it themselves because they were handling marketing, inventory, and operations.

The Solution:

I jumped in and quickly implemented my four-step campaign system that helped them add an extra $765,000 in campaign revenue in our first four months working together.

Here's how we did it:

The 4-Step Consistent Email Campaign Framework

1. Market Research Deep Dive

We started by diving deep into their customer reviews to understand desires and objections. I use AI to analyze online conversations, but I also spend time on Reddit reading their market's actual language.

You need to map out what your customers REALLY care about, not what you think they care about. This foundation is everything because it informs every single email you send moving forward.

2. Content Pillar System

We identified 4-6 topics their audience always wanted to hear about. Think magazine covers at the grocery store - Good Housekeeping talks about the same 10 things every month because that's what their readers care about.

Your customers aren't sick of hearing about their core problems and desires. They want solutions, benefits, and social proof around the same themes over and over.

3. Campaign Calendar Slots

We mapped out recurring slots:

4 individual product features per month
3 Big benefits and desired outcomes focused emails
3 Category Features
2 social proof emails with reviews.

No more "what should I write?" panic at 11 PM on send day. Every month they knew exactly what type of content was going out and when.

4. Killer Workflow

NGL the real secret to all of this is the execution.

You must have an air-tight workflow in place that goes:

Copywriting → Design → Klaviyo implementation → QA → Send.

This system has to be completely automatic, whether you're doing it yourself or have people in place to handle each step.

My team has this locked in - on average the idea-to-inbox process takes 2 days, max.

We can do it even faster if we're only using plain text (my favorite).

We also typically have campaigns scheduled 2 weeks in advance, so we're not just running around with our hair on fire.

Without a solid workflow everything else falls apart.

You'll end up scrambling at the last minute and fall back on just sending lame FLASH SALE emails.

If you’re still struggling to consistently send out campaigns, that is an absolute goldmine of potential revenue.
